We check the Indian hospital letter, patient passport details, photo, treatment purpose, and attendant files before submission.
An India Medical Visa rejection can be painful because the travel is usually urgent and personal. Most rejected or delayed files fail for practical reasons: the hospital letter is incomplete, the patient name does not match the passport, the treatment purpose is vague, the photo is not compliant, or the attendants are not properly connected to the patient.
This guide is for patients travelling to India for cardiac surgery, cancer treatment, orthopaedic procedures, organ-transplant consultation, neurology, fertility care, diagnostics, and follow-up treatment.
1. Hospital Letter Is Missing Key Details
The hospital letter should be on Indian hospital letterhead and include the patient's full passport name, nationality, passport number, tentative admission or appointment date, department, doctor or coordinator, treatment purpose, and hospital contact details.
2. Treatment Purpose Is Too Vague
"Medical treatment" alone is weak. Use clear wording such as cardiac consultation, oncology treatment plan, knee replacement assessment, neurosurgery evaluation, liver transplant consultation, or post-surgery follow-up.
3. Patient Details Do Not Match Passport
Patient name, date of birth, passport number, nationality, and gender must match the passport and hospital letter. A small spelling mismatch can delay a medical visa when time matters most.
4. Attendants Are Not Linked Clearly
If family members are travelling as attendants, their applications should be tied to the patient file. The relationship, patient name, and medical visa reference should be consistent wherever requested.
5. Passport Scan or Photo Is Poor
A dark passport scan, cropped bio page, glare, unreadable MRZ, old photo, coloured background, or shadowed selfie can create a preventable correction request.
