South Africa & Russia: The 30-day tourist e-Visa is free of government charge ($0).
How India e-Visa Fees Work in 2026
The India e-Visa fee has two parts. The first is the government visa fee, set by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs and published as a country-wise chart — it depends on your nationality, the visa type and the validity you choose. The second is a 3% bank charge the government adds to every payment.
For the 30-day tourist e-Visa the government fee is seasonal: it is only $10 for arrivals in April, May and June, and $25 from July through March. The 1-year tourist e-Visa is $40 and the 5-year is $200 for most nationalities. Business e-Visas are usually $120 and medical e-Visas $80.
A number of countries are charged differently. US citizens pay $160 for the 5-year tourist e-Visa and $140 for business; UK citizens pay $484 for the 5-year tourist e-Visa — the highest of any nationality. Japanese and Sri Lankan passport holders pay only $25even for the long-validity tiers, while several nationalities (including South Africa and Russia) get the 30-day tourist e-Visa free of government charge. The calculator above always shows your exact rate.
When you apply through our service, the price you see is all-inclusive: it bundles the government fee, the bank charge and our professional handling — expert review of your form and documents before submission, photo formatting to the exact 366×366 specification, error correction, and support if anything needs fixing. The government fee and our service fee are always shown separately so you know exactly what you are paying for. Remember that the government fee is non-refundable once an application is submitted, which is precisely why a careful pre-submission review is worth it.
India e-Visa Fee FAQs
How much does an India e-Visa cost in 2026?
For most nationalities the Government of India charges $10 for a 30-day tourist e-Visa if you arrive April–June, $25 if you arrive July–March, $40 for the 1-year e-Visa and $200 for the 5-year e-Visa. Business e-Visas are typically $120 and medical e-Visas $80. A 3% bank charge is added on top. A few countries (e.g. the US, UK, Japan, Sri Lanka) have different rates — use the calculator above for your exact nationality.
Is the 30-day India tourist e-Visa really cheaper in some months?
Yes. The Government of India sets the 30-day e-Tourist visa fee at $10 for arrivals between April and June, and $25 for arrivals between July and March. If your travel is flexible, arriving in the April–June window saves you $15 on the government fee.
Why is the total price higher than the government fee?
The government fee is only the visa charge itself. Our all-inclusive price also covers the 3% bank charge, expert review of your application before it reaches the government portal, photo formatting to the exact 366×366 spec, error correction, and 24/7 support — so you are not rejected over a technical mistake. Both the government fee and our service are shown separately before you pay.
Are these the official Government of India visa fees?
Yes. The government fees shown are transcribed directly from the official Bureau of Immigration / Ministry of Home Affairs country-wise fee charts (tourist chart effective 09-Jul-2026; business/medical chart effective 15-Apr-2026). We are an independent visa-assistance service, not the government portal.
Is the India e-Visa fee refundable?
No. Once an application is submitted to the government portal, the government fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome. That is exactly why a pre-submission review matters — most rejections are caused by avoidable document or photo errors.
