The Indian e-Medical Attendant Visa is a specific digital authorization issued to family members or caregivers who are accompanying a patient traveling on an e-Medical visa. Up to two attendants are permitted per patient to ensure adequate support during medical treatment in India. This visa category is directly linked to the patient's visa. The duration and validity of the attendant's authorization mirrors that of the patient, ensuring the support system can remain in the country throughout the treatment period. This guide provides the necessary information for family members to coordinate their applications alongside the patient.

The e-Medical Attendant Visa is a companion authorization. It is issued strictly for the purpose of assisting a patient undergoing treatment in India. It allows for the same triple-entry facility as the e-Medical visa.
Close relatives or designated caregivers of a patient holding an e-Medical visa should apply. It is not for individuals traveling for their own tourism or business purposes. If the patient does not have an e-Medical visa, the attendant cannot apply for this category.
The validity is 60 days from the date of arrival, allowing triple entry. The attendant's stay is linked to the patient's stay; if the patient's visa is extended, the attendant must also apply for an extension via the local FRRO.
Attendants must provide their passport scan and digital photo. They also need to provide the application ID or passport details of the patient they are accompanying, along with the same hospital letter used by the patient.
1. Ensure the patient has started their e-Medical application. 2. Select 'e-Medical Attendant' on the portal. 3. Enter personal and patient reference details. 4. Upload photo, passport scan, and the patient's hospital letter. 5. Pay the fee. 6. Receive the ETA via email.
Approval times match the patient's application, typically 48 to 72 hours. Fees are standard for the medical category and vary by nationality.
