Do Dubai Residents Need an India e-Visa?

Your visa requirement is based on your passport nationality, NOT your UAE residence. Indian passport holders in Dubai do not need any visa for India. However, if you hold a US, UK, Pakistani, Filipino, or any other non-Indian passport with a UAE residence visa, you must apply for an India e-Visa based on your home country passport. The UAE residence visa itself gives you no travel rights to India.

No BLS Center Visit Required

BLS International has centers in Dubai (Karama) and Abu Dhabi for sticker visa applications. However, for the India e-Visa, no physical visit to BLS is required. Everything is processed digitally, saving you the commute and queuing time in Dubai's traffic.

Flights from Dubai to India

Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) offer some of the world's most frequent connections to India. Key routes: Dubai → Mumbai (Air India, Emirates: ~2h 40min), Dubai → Delhi (Air India, Emirates: ~3h 15min), Dubai → Kochi (Air Arabia, flydubai: ~3h), Dubai → Hyderabad (IndiGo, Emirates: ~3h 20min). With flights this frequent, many Dubai residents apply for e-Visa just 4–5 days before travel.

UAE Payment Methods for India e-Visa

Dubai-based applicants can pay using UAE-issued debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). Payments process in USD. ENBD, FAB, ADCB, and Mashreq cards all work reliably. If your UAE bank blocks international transactions, temporarily enabling them in your mobile banking app for the payment step is recommended.
